Today is a somber day for our country. I don't think there is a single person in this country that hasn't been affected by the tragedy of 9/11. I am still horrified by the visions that I have from that day.
Please take a few moments today to remember the victims of that unfathomable crime and their family members. Remember the children that continue to struggle with understanding exactly what happened on that day. Many of them are no longer children and some of them never really go the opportunity to know their parents because many families worked in those buildings together.
Don't forget to remember our first responders and medical providers. These special people truly went the extra mile on that day. Many of them died while others lived because of their efforts.

Be thankful for the survivors and the family members who have learned how to survive without their loved ones. These are the people who have shown us how to face adversity and come out on the other side. Our country has watched them begin to heal as they all set beautiful examples for us. Be thankful that our country has come this far. We may be guarded but we can feel safe again.
Say a prayer for our country, our past, present and future leaders, and the service men and women who fight for our freedom and keep us safe. Because of them we can sleep soundly at night knowing that they are working hard so that we never have to experience anything like that day again. It really doesn't matter where you stand on the war or the withdrawal of troops, just be thankful that we the armed forces to fight for us. Just as Jesus paid the price for our sin these young men and women have chosen a path in life that put them in danger for the safety of those who will never experience the fear, pain or terror that they have seen in Afghanistan and other countries on our behalf. I am not calling them the Holy Savior but their unconditional selfless sacrifice is beyond words. I am touched by their service and honor. My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones so that we can enjoy the life that we know as Americans.

Stand proud today as you remember September 11, 2001. Even though we are experiencing tough economic difficulty we needn't loose sight that WE ARE BLESSED TO BE AMERICANS!!!!!!
